Indices is basically how many times you multiply the same number.

- The base is the number you multiply
- And the number on the top is how many times you multiply it.
To work out the answer in the image above all you need to do is:
- 5×5 (As the index stipulates how many times you need to multiply the base)
- = 25
As you can see it is not hard to work out!

Jim had 10 bags and had 5 lollies in each. He went to the shops but didn’t no how many lollies to buy. How many lollies does Jim have to buy from the shop.
- 510
- = 5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5
- =9765625
